AAUW Branch Lunch and Program
A Branch Lunch Meeting will be held on Saturday, January 25th. Social time will begin at 11:30 am, with lunch served at noon. Following lunch, Bridie Farrell ,CEO & Co-Founder, NY Loves Kids will present her program "Working to End Child Sexual Abuse." Farrell knows first-hand the trauma of sexual abuse. A nationally ranked speed skater at age 15, she was abused by teammate and Olympic silver medalist Andy Gabel, who was 33. Her work with NY Loves Kids has included advocating for the Child Victims Act in New York State, which was passed and signed into law in last year’s legislative session. She speaks across the country on her experiences as a survivor and fierce advocate. Prospective members and others interested in this program are welcome to attend. The deadline for reservations is January 18th; see our web site, adirondack.aauw-nys.org, for details as well as more information about AAUW and the local branch or contact us.
