About this event

In response to the serious environmental crisis facing our planet, the Community Climate Action Walk provides the opportunity for individuals, families, and organizations to come together and learn about local actions we can take to address the severe and far-reaching impacts of climate warming. The walk has been organized by the Unitarian Universalist Social Action Committee, St. Mary’s Social Justice Ministry, and North Country Earth Action (NCEA), a citizens group for climate action advocacy.

Walkers to gather at City Park by Crandall Public Library at 1 PM, and be welcomed by Father Scott from St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s youth reciting excerpts from Laudate Deum, Claudia Braymer, Glens Falls Presbyterian Earth Care Team, and Molly Stewart, from the Glens Falls Unitarian Universalist Congregation.

Led by a climate banner and drums, the group will then walk down Glen Street to Crandall Park where speakers will focus on climate action goals to mitigate the harsh consequences of global warming, and tables will be set up by local groups and organizations for taking actions. Working together adds power to our movement to protect our earth and living beings. In the event of rain or poor weather the event will take place in Aviation Mall and announced on North Country Earth Action Facebook.
