things are heating up, literally, as we begin the catering season. today, it had to be 100 degrees in the kitchen, as we turned it up for roasting vegetables for a pasta prima vera and then back to 350 degrees for many brownies and raspberry muffins. because of the volumn of work for the weekend, i had a dear old catering friend come to help. what a worker…you can hardly find them like that, at age 68! she says if she sits, it’s hard to get going again, so she just goes. yesterday, we had our first ever bus trip of very gentle ladies who were very impressed with the cream of broccoli or squash apple bisque, and for the brothy lovers, turkey vegetable soup. they also had a pretty green salad before moving on to the next venue for the entree. a good idea for a trip and an excellent idea for the restaurants on the trip. it was fun. and the red hat ladies also came for their meeting-lunch. ladies, ladies, ladies.
