Every town has certain places people like to sit and watch the world go by. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours?
This summer “Have a Seat in Glens Falls” offers 38 of them scattered throughout the downtown area.
As I reported in my first blog, I’m now following up my promise by showing the next chair in our virtual furniture store. Here’s a terrific one on Ridge Street. The talented artist is Megin Potter. It’s entitled “Glens Falls Authors” and sponsored by Stewart’s Shops.
Another excellent spot to sit and while away a warm sumer evening is at East Field on Dix Ave watching the boys of summer play ball. The Golden Eagles bring it to home plate during June & July. Support the team – bring the kids and pretend, just for a few hours, that the only decision in your life is where to sit on the bleachers. General admission is only $4 and kids under 4 get in free! Such a deal. Call 518-798-2387 for game dates.
Since we’re talking about sitting, what better place to sit and dine than “al fresco”? If you take a look down any one of our restauranted streets you’ll see a cascade of umbrellas and cafe style chairs with folks enjoying themselves soaking up the sun or the warm evening breezes. One of the simple pleasures of summer.
Blog me back and tell me where do you like to sit in Glens Falls?
Bye for now, Alice
P.S. Always get your pets spayed or neutered!
