I would garner a guess that most Americans would say they love Andrew Wyeth’s work, but very few people have actually seen it in person. Now’s your chance.
The Hyde Collection Art Museum and Historic Home is offering up: Andrew Wyeth: An American Legend from June 12 through September 5. The Hyde is located at 161 Warren Street in Glens Falls. There is a minor admission fee to see this exhibition but well worth the memories. Call 518-792-1761 or hydecollection.org for more info.
If you’re in an art frame of mind (pardon the pun), check out The Shirt Factory which is close to The Hyde. Located at the corner of Cooper & Lawrence Streets, this maze of artists’ studios, workshops, shops and all things art related (including frame shops, fabrics, jewelry, etc.) will suprise you and keep you happily roaming through this once-upon-a-time shirt factory (hence the name, duh!). Don’t miss the work of Ann Larsen at bjartworks Framing Gallery Studio from June 19 – July 24, Suite 212. Opening reception is taking place Saturday, June 19 from 4pm-6pm.
Bye for now, Alice
