I would be interested to meet one warm-hearted American who has never seen this movie. If I did, I would suggest they may have been raised in a closet or a large cave brought up by wolves and should therefore be severely pitted.
The Wizard of Oz is in all our hearts. It is, at least for my generation, the movie that sent our spirits soaring & our imaginations whirling. It was our Harry Potter. Right after Ed Sulllivan, if I remember correctly, the movie came on with that full orchestration playing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and the magic begin.
If you have a hankering to hear Dorothy say “Auntie Em!”, or the Cowardly Lion sing “FI Were King of the Forrrreeessst” (he was my favorite) then you’re in luck. Come on down Thursday, August 19 at 8:00pm for a free outdoor cinema experience. The Big Outdoor Screen Cinema will be located at the corner of Bay and Glen near the Civil War Monument. You can’t miss it. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and the kids for a look back.
There’s no place like home. Bye for now, Alice
PS Spay or neuter your pets (lions, tigers and bears, oh my, too!)
