Speculator NY

Formerly called "Newtons Corners," Speculator was later renamed after the nearby Speculator Mountain. The area gained a lot of recognition when it was the location of the training camps of boxers Gene Tunney, Max Chemling, and Max Baer.

Nowadays, Speculator rests on its laurels and is a quiet region with a wide array of outdoor activities to offer, including several ski routes in the nearby mountains, a public beach, sports complexes, and a nature walk.

Though situated in the Adirondack Park, Speculator is easy to access, since both NYS Routes 8 and 30 intersect within the region.
