Top 6 Annual Events to Look Forward to in Glens Falls

Glens Falls is happening city with a small-town vibe and a strong sense of community - and tons of fun events and festivals! Check out our top six picks for annual events in Glens Falls, NY that locals and visitors look forward to year after year.

1) LARAC June Arts Festival

With the Glens Falls Arts Trail and more creative initiatives happening all the time, it's no surprise that the LARAC June Arts Festival is one of our favorite annual events.

This is the largest juried art show in the Adirondack region, with over 100 participating artists represented from around the country. The festival also includes kids events, live music, and plenty of great food.

2) GEM Fest

What used to take place in multiple locations across Glens Falls each summer has transformed into a multi-stage event at the Shirt Factory. As in years past, you can expect about two dozen participating bands at GEM Fest, in addition to multiple artists showing off their creations.

3) Adirondack Balloon Festival

The Adirondack Balloon Festival is one of the most popular events in the region by far, and it takes place in a few locations. But, the weekend-long festivities usually kick off with a Thursday evening balloon launch at Crandall Park in Glens Falls, featuring around 50 hot air balloons.

4) Wing Fest

Wing Fest happens in Glens Falls every April, and allows chicken wing lovers to sample wings for nominal fee from a variety of restaurants and vote on their favorites. There is also a hot chicken wing eating competition.

5) Boo 2 You

Calling all Halloween buffs - and their children! Free trick-or-treating, talented spooky dance performers, a pumpkin carving contest, and more await at the annual Boo 2 You block party celebration that takes place downtown. Wear a costume, and/or sign up to volunteer to give out candy!

6) Hometown Holidays

Hometown Holidays comprises a series of holiday and Christmas-themed happenings, including the Festival of Trees at the Queensbury Hotel, a tree lighting in City Park, a Nutcracker ballet performance from the Adirondack Ballet Theater, and the past couple of years, Santa making his way through Glens Falls on his sled pulled by a local fire truck.
