Hudson River Community Credit Union's mission is to provide quality services to improve the financial well-being of members and their families. The Credit Union is a unique not-for-profit and member-owned financial institution.

As a member of HRCCU, you are more than a number. You're an owner of a not-for-profit financial cooperative - an association with a strong, shared commitment to the financial well being of its members. Although other financial institutions need to generate profits to satisfy stockholders, credit unions are different. Our credit union returns excess earnings to its members in the form of:

  • Competitive dividend rates paid on savings and investment accounts.
  • Low interest rates on loans and credit cards.
  • Exceptional low-cost financial products and services.
  • Low or no service charges.

Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) was founded in 1954 by the employees of International Paper Company in Corinth, New York as IPCO Federal Credit Union. HRCCU became a New York state chartered credit union in March 1998. In September 2003 it received approval to expand membership eligibility from a multi-occupational credit union to a community credit union.

Anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school or businesses and other legal entities located within Saratoga, Warren, Washington and Rensselaer counties or in Cohoes, Watervliet and Green Island is eligible to join. Family members are also eligible to join. In 2004, the credit union changed its name to reflect the new charter to Hudson River Community Credit Union.

This is a great bank in the convenience of the great services they offer. For example, I needed a new debit card for my checking account, and they let me pick what I wanted my card to look like, & made me one right there on the spot. Convenient. Great.
If you're generally a busy person, beware. Both Lobby & Drive thru hours are minimalistic.. Look carefully at their lobby hours for taking care of more complex business, & drive thru as well because both are nearly only open when you're working.. Maybe the worst part of their hours is the extra days they close for holidays.. You'll have no idea that along with Monday, the Saturday prior to Memorial Day they'll also be closed... They do that as often as possible with holidays.. If you're out of work, & back to town before 3pm, you'd probably love this bank. But if you work days, chances are, you'll be forced to do your banking on Saturdays, which you'd want to prepare for holidays that are normally observed on Mondays because this bank will also close their doors to you on Saturday as well as Monday.. I don't think they understand how important it is to a customer to have access to bank personnel & how treating the customer like it's a privilege to be a customer is not a recipe for success.

Worst bank of all time!
