Hudson River Community Credit Union's mission is to provide quality services to improve the financial well-being of members and their families. The Credit Union is a unique not-for-profit and member-owned financial institution.
As a member of HRCCU, you are more than a number. You're an owner of a not-for-profit financial cooperative - an association with a strong, shared commitment to the financial well being of its members. Although other financial institutions need to generate profits to satisfy stockholders, credit unions are different. Our credit union returns excess earnings to its members in the form of:
- Competitive dividend rates paid on savings and investment accounts.
- Low interest rates on loans and credit cards.
- Exceptional low-cost financial products and services.
- Low or no service charges.
Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU) was founded in 1954 by the employees of International Paper Company in Corinth, New York as IPCO Federal Credit Union. HRCCU became a New York state chartered credit union in March 1998. In September 2003 it received approval to expand membership eligibility from a multi-occupational credit union to a community credit union.
Anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school or businesses and other legal entities located within Saratoga, Warren, Washington and Rensselaer counties or in Cohoes, Watervliet and Green Island is eligible to join. Family members are also eligible to join. In 2004, the credit union changed its name to reflect the new charter to Hudson River Community Credit Union.
