2nd Life Wearhouse - The United Methodist Church of Queensbury

Where it is: 460 Aviation Road (back entrance), Queensbury, NY 12804

What they accept: clothes, shoes, coats

Additional Details

They prefer not to take household goods as they do not have the space. They sell items they get cheaply ($2 adult clothes, $1 kids clothes) so they move quickly, and they have volunteers who deliver items to Helping Hands, Community Action, and other organizations.

About the Organization

2nd Life Wearhouse sells affordable clothing out of the United Methodist Church. Their store hours are Fridays 6pm to 8pm, and Saturdays 9am to 12pm.

First Baptist Thrift Store

Where it is: Back entrance to First Baptist Church, 100 Maple Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801

What they accept: clothing, small home goods, books

Additional Details

They are especially looking for gently used mens and kids clothing.

The Thrift Store hours are Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 9:30am to 12pm; and Friday 9:30am to 1:30pm. Access to the store is from the back of the church, then proceed to the basement.

Glens Falls City School Boutique

Faculty members of the high school came together to create this boutique store to connect students with food and clothing.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Where it is: 1373 Route 9, Moreau, NY 12828

What they accept: furniture, home goods

Additional Details

The Habitat ReStore accepts new and used building materials, furniture, appliances, lighting fixtures, and other home goods. They sell these items in their stores to raise money for home-building projects.

Donation drop off hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 4pm. To make a donation or inquire about a donation pick-up please contact ReStore Donations Coordinator at restore@glensfallshabitat.org or call 518.793.7484, extension 21. Calls are typically returned within two to three business days.

Please note: Due to the overwhelming generosity of the community, they are booking out by two to four weeks in advance for pick-up service.

Moreau Community Center

They accept slightly used, clean, in good condition clothing and shoes. Due to limited storage space they ask for in season donations only.

The thrift store is open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm.

The Moreau Community Center is a nonprofit organization that serves as a hub for youth, seniors, and general community activities and services for Saratoga, Warren, and Washington Counties.

Open Arms Pregnancy Center

What they accept: baby and toddler clothing, baby supplies, maternity clothes

Additional Details

Baby and toddler clothes are accepted up through size 4T. They are need of crib mattresses, full size strollers, high chairs, and baby gates. Everything must be in good working condition with no pieces missing. They also need diapers and formula.

They do not accept car seats, cribs, or used toys.

Open Arms Pregnancy Center serves women in crisis pregnancy and life-crisis needs throughout the Glens Falls, Queensbury, South Glens Falls, Hudson Falls, and Lake George region of New York.

Salvation Army

Please call ahead before bringing items to the Salvation Army - they have been inundated with donations thanks to Marie Kondo and at times must turn people away; they also have strict regulations on what they can or cannot accept.
