About this event

The Hyde Collection is proud to announce the First Annual Glens Falls Plein Air Festival, a vibrant week-long celebration of outdoor painting to be held July 27 through August 2, 2026, in Glens Falls, New York. Set in the heart of “Hometown USA,” the festival will showcase the natural beauty, historic charm, and distinct character of the Glens Falls region—framed by the breathtaking landscapes of the Adirondack Mountains.

Throughout the week, participating artists will paint en plein air (outside, on location), capturing Glens Falls’ scenic streets, parks, architecture, and surrounding vistas. Community members and visitors are invited to witness the creative process firsthand as artists work outdoors in real time, transforming everyday views into original works of art.

July 27: Artists begin painting today!
July 28: Artists will be painting our beloved lake views at The Sembrich, The Bolton Historical Museum, and The Sagamore Resort.
July 29: Artists will be painting along the Warren County Bike Path throughout the day and in downtown Glens Falls during the Take A Bite event from 5-7 pm.
July 30: Join artists who will be painting The Hyde Collection gardens and grounds throughout the afternoon, then pop over to The Shirt Factory and enjoy a bite to eat during the Thursday Market & Food Truck Corral from 4:30-8 pm.
July 31, 5-7:30 pm at The Hyde Collection: All are invited to the Plein Air Festival Exhibition Opening Reception at The Hyde (161 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY).
August 1, 10 am-5 pm at The Hyde Collection: Finished artwork created during the Plein Air Festival week will be displayed in a special weekend-only exhibition, offering the public a unique opportunity to view and purchase freshly created local landscapes.
August 2, 10 am-4 pm at The Hyde Collection: Everyone is invited to The Hyde Collection for Community Day free of charge to view the exhibitions, take a tour, enjoy music and food, and view the Plein Air Festival exhibition. This will be the last day to view the Plein Air exhibition and a Quick Draw competition will take place as we celebrate the participating artists.
