About this event
The Historical Society of Moreau and South Glens Falls opens its annual exhibition of mpre than 125 nativity sets from around the globe on November 28. This year’s exhibition, titled Nativities: Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue organizes the creches in each room of the historic house around the title themes.
The annual program, originally created as the major fundraiser for the Historical Society, has become a holiday favorite for many families and individuals, giving visitors insights into the great variety of styles and materials used in making the holiday scenes.
The exhibition will be open from noon to 4 pm on November 28 & 28, as well as December 4-6, 11-13, 18-20 and 29. Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for children under the age of twelve.
Private group tours will be made available by appointment with a $7 per person charge and a minimum fee of $50 per group. Those interested in a private tour are asked to email parksbentleyplace@gmail.com with group details.
Of the three oldest buildings in South Glens Falls, Parks-Bentley is the only one open to the public. With the exception of the holiday exhibition, the historic house and grounds are open only during the summer months for tours and educational programs. Volunteers offer outreach programs throughout each school year and in the summer to students, as well as to social and civic groups.
