Using a favorite photo of your pet, you’ll learn approachable acrylic techniques for building a portrait step by step, including simple sketching, color mixing, layering, and expressive brushwork. We’ll focus on capturing your pet’s personality—those soulful eyes, floppy ears, curious tilt, or proud posture—rather than striving for perfect realism.
Important style note:
This class uses a loose, colorful, expressive painting style, similar to the example shown. Your finished piece will be inspired by your pet’s photo, but interpreted in a painterly, artistic way. Expect bold brushstrokes, simplified shapes, and playful or enhanced color choices (you may stay realistic or explore more creative color). This is not a photorealistic or hyper-detailed portrait class.
