There is nothing like a parade to get you in the spirit of the season. Don't miss the annual South Glens Falls Holiday Parade!
Note: The parade is returning to its daytime format this year, after experimenting with a nighttime event last year. It starts at 1pm.
Details to Know for the 2026 Parade
The Holiday Parade takes place every year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The parade steps off at 1PM and travels north along Route 9 through the Village of South Glens Falls from Carriage Traders to The Peppermill.
The parade showcases dozens of entries, which include community groups, bands, floats, costumed characters, marchers, and of course, an appearance by a very special guest: Santa Claus!

- Best School Float
- Best Musical Group
- Best Dance Group
- Best Theme Float
- Best Holiday Float

Spectators park along residential side streets that run parallel or perpendicular to Route 9, just keep an eye out for temporary "no parking" signs so you don't block emergency detour routes. Most people choose to park near either the beginning of the parade, near Hannaford, or the end, towards the bridge to Glens Falls.
