The project comes as Martha's prepares to celebrate its 80th anniversary in 2027. Along with a new gift shop, the expansion will bring additional outdoor seating options, offering customers even more to look forward to when the seasonal ice cream stand reopens next year.
Martha's Dandee Crème Breaks Ground on a New Gift Shop
Located at 1133 Route 9 in Queensbury, Martha's Dandee Crème has been a local tradition since 1947. Known for its generous ice cream servings and wide selection of soft serve flavors, the shop has welcomed generations of residents and visitors traveling through the Lake George region.
According to recent reports from WGNA and NEWS10, construction is now underway on a new gift shop. The addition will give customers more opportunities to bring home Martha's merchandise, including branded apparel and Lake George themed items.
The expansion comes after customers expressed interest in having more merchandise options beyond the adult shirts and sweatshirts currently available.
More Outdoor Seating Is Also Coming to Martha's
The gift shop isn't the only improvement planned for the Queensbury location. Martha's is also adding another heated pavilion, along with additional picnic tables and umbrellas.
With the added seating, visitors will have more room to enjoy their ice cream and spend time at this popular Route 9 destination. The new pavilion is planned for the opposite side of the existing building.
The announcement also addressed customer questions about whether construction would affect the shop's familiar outdoor seating area. Rather than taking away from the experience longtime visitors know and love, the expansion is designed to provide even more space to enjoy it.
