Cranberry-Orange Nut Bread Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- Juice and grated peel of 1 orange
- 1 egg
- 1 cup cranberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then grease the bottom of a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Then, stir in the softened butter until mixture is crumbly
- Stir in orange peel (about 1 tablespoon), the juice of 1 orange, and 1 egg. Stir until flour is moist
- Stir in cranberries and nuts and spread into pan
- Bake for 55 to 65 minutes (make sure it doesn't burn)
- Loosen the edges of the bread with a soft spatula
- Let stand at least 8 hours before slicing
