Cranberry-Orange Nut Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • Juice and grated peel of 1 orange
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup cranberries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and then grease the bottom of a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Then, stir in the softened butter until mixture is crumbly
  3. Stir in orange peel (about 1 tablespoon), the juice of 1 orange, and 1 egg. Stir until flour is moist
  4. Stir in cranberries and nuts and spread into pan
  5. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes (make sure it doesn't burn)
  6. Loosen the edges of the bread with a soft spatula
  7. Let stand at least 8 hours before slicing
