A local teacher with a flair for the arts has turned what was a hobby into a photography business.
Sarah McCann is a teacher at Hudson Falls Middle School, but also runs Sarah McCann Photography.
Being a teacher for much of the year, she does not have a studio. Rather, she travels to client locations.
McCann has specialized in child and family portraits, senior portraits and recently branched out to do weddings.
“I’ve always been interested in photography,” said McCann. She studied art at SUNY Albany and saw the opportunity to turn her interest in arts and photography into a business endeavor.
Adding weddings to her list of services will add to her work load. She also noted that the fall has been a busy time for portrait photography, as people see it as a good gift among friends and family for the upcoming holiday season.
For the holidays, McCann will be shooting pictures of children with Santa Claus on Dec. 1 and 2 at McCann’s Pharmacy in Hudson Falls.
McCann does not sell packages. She charges a session fee, which includes editing and touch-ups on all photos. Clients can order prints and other items directly from her website and also receive a CD of all edited images.
Her website is www.sarahmccannphotography.com. Her phone is 744-2774.
