When adding up the years of home
improvement experience between Jason
Miles and Mike Winters, it comes to over
40. The two combined forces recently after
the sluggish economy was taking its toll on
their individual talents.
Now, the two are hopeful as they begin
a Fort Edward-based business, Accurate
Upkeep.
Miles said the two have known each
other for years and knew if they partnered
up they would be able to provide almost
any possible service needed. He said they
were both feeling the effects of a slowing
economy and he was not ready to work for
someone else or at a larger business.
As owner of Accurate Concrete for 22
years, Miles said he knew it was time to
find a partner.
“Mike has a great reputation and
through the years we have built up a
relationship with literally thousands. I
knew together we would be able to be full
service and really reach a lot of people,”
said Miles.
The business is based out of the Fort
Edward area, but they work with homeowners
and contractors all over the Capital
Region. What makes them different is the range of jobs they perform, said Miles.
He said they are available for everything
from lawn care and driveways, to masonry,
washing windows, and kitchen renovations.
He added that they also look to help
people with jobs that may be too small for
larger contractors, such as changing a
doorknob. The mantra and philosophy of
their business is that no job is too small
and they are happy to take on the large
ones as well.
“We want to help homeowners in any
situation and if it is something we don’t
get into, such as heating systems, we
have people who we know and trust who
contract with. We use all local resources
who we have built relationships with,”
said Miles.
Miles said the response so far has been
very positive. He said most people like to
turn to who they know, especially when
it comes to their home. They recently
started up a Facebook page to help spread
the word.
“Within hours our Facebook page had
over 100 likes. People like to stay local,”
said Miles.
