Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. was recently recognized on Seifried & Brew’s “Top 15th Percentile of Community Banks” list based on its performance in 2015.
To create the list, Seifried & Brew measured how institutions with assets between $10 million and $10 billion balanced risk and reward, using its total risk/return composite ranking system.
The Bethlehem, Pa.-based company specializes in education and analysis for community banks.

The TCT Federal Credit Union announced the recipients of its 2016 academic scholarships.
Four $750 scholarships were awarded to Lillian Snyder (Cambridge High School), Sydney Potter (Shenendehowa High School), Lynn Edwards (Queensbury High School) and Mara Bureau (Queensbury High School).
Each year, TCT awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are TCT members, have displayed outstanding academic and extracurricular achievements and demonstrated an awareness of the “people helping people” credit union philosophy. Applicants are judged by representatives of the New York Credit Union Association located in Albany.

GlobalFoundries announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to drive its next phase of growth in China. Through a joint venture with the government of Chongqing, the company plans to expand its global manufacturing footprint by establishing a 300mm fab in China.
GlobalFoundries is also investing in expanding design support capabilities to better serve customers across the country, the company said.
The initial plan of the project includes upgrading an existing semiconductor fab to accommodate the manufacturing of 300mm wafers using GlobalFoundries’ production-proven technologies from its Singapore site. The proposed joint venture will provide immediate access to a state-of-the-art facility, accelerating time-to-market with production planned for 2017.
The company said it continues to strengthen sales, support, and design services offerings in China. The company’s current presence is anchored by world-class design centers in Beijing and Shanghai, which have extensive expertise in custom designs supporting a robust ASIC platform, coupled with foundry design capabilities for a variety of technology nodes. These capabilities are complemented by key regional partners in its design and IP ecosystem.
