The Glens Falls Collaborative presents the second annual FitFest event in City Park on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It starts with the FitFest 5K Fun Run/Walk at 10 a.m.
The event is held with support from the Glens Falls Business Improvement District and City of Glens Falls. Admission is free.
The event is a showcase of the health, fitness and wellness sector of the Glens Falls Collaborative, a group with more than 100 members. Planned are sample fitness classes, interactive demonstrations, healthy food for sale, fun contests, music, and member booths with giveaways, samples, children’s activities, and information about their organizations and services.
“FitFest was a success last year and we’re excited to bring it back,” said FitFest Committee Chairman Chris Murphy. “We really look forward to showcasing the growing wellness sector in the Glens Falls area and have a lot of great vendors lined up for this event.”
The FitFest 5K leaves City Park at 10 a.m. and travels up to Crandall Park, where participants will complete a routine on the fitness equipment recently installed by the Crandall Park Beautification Committee.
Runners will then take a different route back to City Park. Water and light refreshments are provided. This year’s race is a fun run, with no awards planned.
Registration is available online at www.glensfallscollaborative.com. The cost is $20 to participate, or $15 for ages 12 and younger.
