The Manasse/Nakamatsu Duo will present an evening of classical music on Monday, April 16, at 7:30 pm at The Hyde Collection, Glens Falls. This is the second of the spring concerts of the de Blasiis Chamber Music Series and features clarinetist Jon Manasse, and pianist Jon Nakamatsu.
Their program will include Sonatas of Johannes Brahms and Leonard Bernstein, Debussy’s Prèmiere Rhapsody and two works written for the Du; Paquito D’Rivera’s The Cape Code Files and two of the Four Rags for Two Jons by John Novacek. Also, Mr. Nakamatsu will perform Chopin’s Andante Spianato & Grand Polonaise.
The Manasse/Nakamatsu Duo immediately established itself with a highly acclaimed 2004 performance in Boston. Subsequent coast-to-coast touring has included appearances on some of the country’s most prestigious series: New York City’s Mostly Mozart Festival at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Washington’s Dumbarton Oaks and National Gallery of Art, Eastman School of Music, Charlottesville’s Tuesday Evening Concert Series, Des Moines Art Center, Duke University, Montalvo Center for the Arts, Rhode Island Chamber Music Concerts, St. Bonaventure University, Fort Worth’s Van Cliburn Foundation, University of Massachusetts Amherst. The artists are also heard at the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival, which they serve as co-directors.
This is the Duo’s second appearance on the de Blasiis Series.
