Doug Coon acquired Fun World Arcade at 127 Canada Street in Lake George in November 2010. It’s had the usual arcade assortment of pinball, air hockey, SkeeBall, video, and shooting games, but Coon wanted something different.
Think you can master Level 4 and have your name on the scoreboard all summer? Think again. Coon has the capacity to add or remove lasers or change patterns.
Coon gives credit to Munter Enterprises of Saratoga for construction of The Vault within Fun World Arcade. Warren De Kleine of Diamond Point has been the electrician involved in the assembly. Marissa Muratori gets credit for painting the inside of The Vault to give it a more authentic appearance.
Coon describes The Vault as “an interactive, fun thing.” He notes that it’s safe and that it involves no images of shooting or killing, just everyone together having a good time. He’s even seen parent-and-kid teams in locations that he observed.
The cost for running The Vault’s mazes is $3 for a single play, $5 for two rounds, $8 for three, or $12 for five.
Fun World Arcade opens April 6 from 11am-10pm. Summer hours, beginning in late June, will be from 9am-1am. Any questions can be directed to Coon at 668-2708.
