Casting his web at this year’s festival will be “Spyder Pig”. Also built in 2011 for Aerial Marketing, this costumed oinker will bring “ooh’s” and “ahhhhh’s” to all who get a glimpse. Spyder Pig will be flown by Wayne Bond.
A favorite of the past also returns this year as “Lily” the bumble bee makes a return visit. A huge crowd favorite from the past, Lily’s “sting” will bring smiles to all who see her.
We are also pleased to announce that CNN recently named the Adirondack Balloon Festival one of “7 Breathtaking Balloon Adventures” along with ballooning events in France, Turkey, and Canada.
Can you believe it? Spyder Pig, the aerial oinker, will also be flying in to delight kids at the Adirondack Balloon Festival at the Warren County Airport.
The event kicks off on Thursday September 20 at 4 PM at Crandall Park, Glens Falls, NY. Events continue through the weekend at Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport (Warren County Airport). A full schedule of events is planned.
The Adirondack Balloon Festival is a not-for-profit organization. Our event is operated by volunteers and relies on community support for it funding. For 40 years, the balloon festival has been free of charge to the public to attend. The Festival attracts 100-150,000 thousand people to the region each year and has a substantial impact to the region’s economy.
