The award-winning Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama will be performed again this summer from July 27 through August 18 in Lake George.
Tickets are on sale for The Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama, a summer theatrical production, which will be presented on the grounds of the Wild West Ranch & Western Town from July 27 to August 18 in Lake George. Winner of the NY State Travel and Vacation Association’s “Cultural Heritage Award of Excellence for 2012” the show was inspired from James Fenimore Cooper’s classic American novel.
This new theater adaptation has been written specifically to be performed in and to celebrate the unique heritage of the Lake George Region. The story is brought to life upon the very ground where the historical events occurred. The sacred earth and surrounding environment become lead characters in the evening’s performance. The towering French Mountain creates the natural backdrop to this production under the stars.
Showtime is 8 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights and runs for two hours. There is one matinee performance on Saturday, August 4th at 2 PM. A “meet n’ greet” is held each after each show for the audience to meet and take photos with cast members. Set amidst the siege of Fort William Henry in August of 1757, The Last of the Mohicans blends historical fact and romantic fiction to create an exciting tale that has been popular for nearly 200 years. With its proven story, including military skirmishes, Native American dance, flaming torches, roaring cannons, and lavish period costumes, this unique outdoor stage adaptation has something for everyone.
This production debuted to sold-out crowds in 2010 and has continued to enhance its natural woodland set design, added several new story themes and expanded its cast. Call (855) 733-1757 for tickets, or www.LastoftheMohicans.org.
