Hudson River Community Credit Union
(HRCCU) was honored with an “Industry’s Best”
Diamond Award for its on-site financial education
programs.
HRCCU received the award from the 2014 Credit
Union Association (CUNA) for its financial literacy
outreach in the community, including free on-site
workshops for credit union members and the public
on a variety of important financial topics.
This award was administered by the CUNA
Marketing and Business Development Council, a
network comprised of over 1,100 credit union marketing
and business development professionals.
The competition attracts more than 1,200 entries and awards are given in each of 33 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond.
In 2013, HRCCU forged a partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension offices in Saratoga, Warren, Washington, Rensselaer and Albany counties to provide on-site educational workshops at no cost to area businesses such as Finch Paper, Genpak and Washington County Employees. By the end of 2013, HRCCU had increased the number of its educational program offerings by 467 percent, workshops held by 1,200 percent and registered participants by an outstanding 1,214 percent over 2012.
