OrthoNY will begin seeing patients in
Glens Falls on April 14 in One Broad Street
Plaza, the professional arts building at 125
Broad St.
One of nine OrthoNY locations in the
Capital/Saratoga Region, the Glens Falls
office will offer the community sports medicine,
foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery,
total joint surgery and general orthopaedic
care, with the added convenience of onsite
imaging services, company officials said.
Surgeries will be performed at nearby
Glens Falls Hospital. Initially, officials said, the new location will be staffed by providers from OrthoNY’s Saratoga and Malta teams. The team will include physician assistants working together with Drs. Justin Ferrara, William O’Connor, Kevin Rosas, and George Silver.
A national search is ongoing for orthopaedic surgeons to be based solely in Glens Falls, according to officials. “We are excited to bring the OrthoNY team of bone and joint experts to Glens Falls,” states Alan Okun, CEO. “Until now, many patients from Warren County and the northern Saratoga Region have had to travel a significant distance for orthopaedic treatment.”
“OrthoNY was created to care for patients where they live, work and play. Our mission is to get them back to the life they love as quickly as possible,” he added.
OrthoNY has also hired Mary Hannan, MS, RN, as chief operating officer. She will work in both the Albany and Saratoga regions to oversee day-to-day functions for the practice’s eight locations.
Prior to joining OrthoNY, Hannan worked at Albany Memorial Hospital for 13 years, most recently in the chief nursing officer position. In that role, she directed all aspects of nursing practice and fostered strong partnerships with physicians and support departments to encourage collaboration, team development and quality patient care.
Hannan began her nursing career at Albany Medical Center. During her 25-year tenure there, she gained experience in the oncology, coronary care and adult critical care units before being promoted to supervisory positions in adult surgical and cardio-thoracic surgery.
Hannan then spent 17 years as nurse manager for trauma/general surgery and Patient Triage Manager.
