SUNY Adirondack has received approval from the State University of New York and Empire State Development to move forward with Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s START-UP NY program.
START-UP NY provides tax-free incentives for new and growing businesses that will support SUNY Adirondack’s academic mission and contribute to the economic development of our region.
Businesses in this program are located on or near college campuses and operate tax-free for 10 years.
“START-UP NY is a great opportunity to cultivate partnerships with local businesses to provide our students with hands-on learning experiences that complement their education and to be part of economic growth for our region” said Dr. Kristine Duffy, president of SUNY Adirondack.
Duffy said the college is looking forward to working with the Economic Development Corporations (EDC) of Warren, Washington, and Saratoga Counties to help identify potential businesses.
Inquiries should be directed to the Office of the President at 743-2237.
With locations in Queensbury, Wilton, and online, SUNY Adirondack is a growing campus of the nation’s largest university, the State University of New York. SUNY Adirondack serves students via its credit and Continuing Education programs.
