Ellen Daubenschmidt worked in the
corporate accounting world for 25 years,
when she decided that it was time to make
a change in her career path.
“I always loved flowers,” she said. And she
went in that direction.
In January, she opened Days Remembered
Floral Design at 276 Glen St. in Glens
Falls.
“The businesses here really support each
other… There’s a great group of people
working and living here,” she said.
She noted the store gets a lot of foot traffic
and she believes Glens Falls is a great
city in which to start a business.
Daubenschmidt receives her flowers locally.
She designs each bouquet by hand,
using her own style. When visitors come into
her shop or browse her website, she wants
them to see bouquets that they will not find
anywhere else, instead of arrangements
that they can easily find through popular
delivery websites.
She offers pre-made arrangements in
her shop, so that customers can purchase a
bouquet for a certain occasion or have one
ready to go out that day, instead of having to wait.
Daubenschmidt said she plans to work
with local farmers to source the freshest,
most seasonal flowers for her bouquets.
“My mission is to provide quality, fresh
flowers that are solidly designed at an affordable
price,” said Daubenschmidt.
With a successful Valentine’s Day season
behind her, she is now looking forward to
spring.
Days Remembered Floral Design offers
flowers for all kinds of occasions: Mother’s
Day, Easter, prom flowers, recitals, and
more. The shop also provides flowers to
small businesses and decorates for weddings
and funerals.
There are arrangements at many different
price points, from large bouquets for parties
and other events to small prom corsages.
The shop is open Monday through Friday
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m.
to 1 p.m.; closed on Sundays.
Currently, Days Remembered Floral
Design is offering free delivery within the
Glens Falls and Queensbury region. For
more information, call 636-5928 or stop by
the store. Its website is daysrememberedfloraldesign.com.
