LARAC, the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council, announced the results of the 120° Intercollegiate Art Regional.
The 120° Intercollegiate Art Regional is a newly expanded competition that highlights the best collegiate artworks in the northeast region. The competition is co-sponsored by LARAC, Saratoga Arts, and Arts Center of the Capital Region.
This year’s competition will exhibit at LARAC’s Lapham Gallery from Feb. 26 to March 27.
The exhibition will feature 46 artworks by 25 students, selected by guest juror Erin Coe, director of the Hyde Collection. A variety of mediums will be represented including paintings, works on paper, sculpture, digital art, and video.
An opening reception and award ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27, 4-6 p.m. Three winning juror’s choice awards and three honorable mention awards will be announced.
Opening receptions are free to attend and open to the public. There will be refreshments, and live music by Jay Lawson.
LARAC said JMZ Architects and Planners PC is the event’s regional sponsor.
The company “has been integral part of our Glens Falls community for their entire 39-history,” LARAC President Tenee Casaccio said. “While our commitment to our local community has been steadfast, the work we do–campus planning and building design for higher education institutions–takes us all over the U.S.”
