Amanda Magee, Trampoline Design Founder, Started Career In Theater And Writing Copy

Amanda Magee started her career in theater, where she worked in management and copy writing.
She has since switched careers. In 2004, Magee decided to open Trampoline Design with a group of co-founders.
“We saw the Glens Falls area as being underrepresented,” said Magee. “And there was an opportunity to compete” with other Capital District companies.
Magee is co-founder of Trampoline Design, an advertising and design agency in Glens Falls. The business was founded by Magee, her husband Sean, and another couple, Derek and Paula Slayton.
The wives have majority ownership, which has earned it certification as a state Woman Owned Business.
Trampoline Design is located at 11 South St., Suite 21 in Glens Falls.
Magee started her career in theater, where she worked in management and copy writing. Several of her clients are part of that industry, such as the Adirondack Theater Festival. Prior to establishing Trampoline, she was a writer for the Glens Falls Post Star newspaper.
“We were all at an age where we knew what we wanted to be doing, and we couldn’t do it with the jobs we had,” she said.
She eventually established Trampoline, which provides marketing, advertising and design services to nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, municipalities and art organizations. The first client the company worked with was Double H Ranch in Lake Luzerne.
Some of the current academic clients include SUNY Plattsburgh, SUNY Geneseo, and Paul Smith’s College.
“There is a need to send a message that shows academic integrity, as well as have a message that will resonate with a 17-year-old,” said Magee on her strategy when working with higher education institutions.
Trampoline can help with brochures and literature, graphic design and logos, advertisements, and more.
“I get to do something different every single day,” said Magee. “There is great satisfaction in having run [the business] for more than a decade and have clients who have been here for longer than that … I enjoy coming up with solutions that are effective for my clients. It’s about building relationships with people.”
The agency continues to focus on destination marketing and will be launching brand updates and campaigns for clients in Lake Placid, Wilmington, and Warren County.
