The Glens Falls Food Co-ÂOp, now in its fifth year, is open in the Empire Theater Plaza, 11 South St., Glens Falls, again this year.
The organization also announced its third annual Food & Farm Festival on Sunday, May 22, to be held in City Park.
The festival, now in its third year, was previously was held in Crandall Park. Like the store, it has found its new home downtown.
“It’s where we’ve always wanted to be,” said Alesa DelSignore, volunteer coordinator. “It took a while, but we’ve finally made it home.”
Festival coordinators expect several tables from farm, food and artisan vendors, as well as nonprofit information booths.
Several free children’s activities, including face painting, vegetable printing and seed starters, are set. Additionally, there will be live entertainment featuring local musicians.
The event is free to the public, though donations of healthy, nonperishable foods are appreciated and will be shared with area food pantries.
The Glens Falls Food Co-ÂOp is a member-Âowned-and-operated food cooperative focusing on local, healthy, and sustainable food and goods. It was previously housed at an incubator storefront at Rock Hill Bakehouse in Gansevoort.
