Sunnyside Par 3 golf course has gone through several changes this season that ownership hopes will please both experienced golfers and beginners.
The course is located at 168 Sunnyside Road in Queensbury, co-owned by Jim Beaty and Herb Lavery.
Changes include the dining area, which has more seating and a new menu. Brianne Murphy is chef and has added new dishes. Some include bruschetta, pizzas, chicken parmesan, salads, stromboli and more.
“She can create anything, really,” said Beaty.
The restaurant is open from noon to close every day for lunch and dinner. There is also a full-service bar.
The facility also has a large banquet hall, which can be rented for use for graduation parties, birthday parties, wedding receptions, and other uses.
He said one of the biggest improvements to the facility is the new extended patio. Previously there was a screened-in porch. With the renovations, Sunnyside Par 3 has expanded the patio area, opening up a section of the clubhouse that can seat up to 45 people.
“The porch embraces the whole clubhouse. People can dine and watch golf at the same time,” Beaty said.
Other renovations that have recently been completed at the golf course include the resurfacing of the parking lot, painting of the exterior and other cosmetic improvements, new furnishings, a new pool table for guests and improvements to the greens as well.
“People can complete the course in an hour and a half,” said Beaty. “It’s a lot more relaxing. It’s good for beginners, it’s good for kids. Anybody can show up and play. We get a broad range of both the public and the leagues.”
Guests can rent golf clubs and golf carts. There are no tee times required.
The golf course is open from 8 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. every day of the week. The bar and grille hours are noon to close. For more information, visit sunnysidepar3.com or call 792-0148.
