The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee is sponsoring its second American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center on Monday, March 27..
Appointments are available from 12:30 to 6 p.m.
The committee’s first sponsored blood drive was in November when nearly 40 pints were donated. Appointments can be made online at www.lakegeorgechamber.com/event/blood-drive-2.
Chamber officials said the Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 blood and platelet donations every day for the patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide. Blood and platelets are needed to respond to patient emergencies, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease.
The chamber is also offering a variety of events in the month of March, offering networking and professional development opportunities.

The chamber’s monthly Business After Hours mixer will take place in Adirondack Pub & Brewery’s Barrel Room from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15. The Barrel Room is located on the second floor of the restaurant.

In January the chamber launched a new Lunch & Learn class series in an effort to offer educational programming to members.
The Lunch & Learn series brings various speakers into the chamber office during the lunch hour to teach their expertise. Classes have covered a variety of topics including preventing workplace violence and social media marketing.
The next class, Content Marketing: What To Say And How To Say It.” , is planned for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, and will be taught by Erik Bunaes of Endorphin Advisors LLC. There will be an emphasis on video content. The classes are free for members and $10 for the general public. The Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce & CVB, headquartered on Route 9 in the town of Lake George, operates visitor centers in the village of Lake George, on the corner of Beach Road and Canada Street, and at the Northway rest stop between Exits 17 and 18.
