It didn’t take long for the space at the former 190 Grille and Cinema in downtown Glens Falls to receive some attention.
Fowler Building Associates, owners of the property at 190 Glen St., said they expect the space to be filled by a new tenant as early as April.
Fowler Building Associates is a separate LLC formed by owners of JMZ Architects and Planners PC. Tenée R. Casaccio, JMZ president, said they have not signed anything yet with the prospective tenant, but are confident that they will move in and be operating their business this spring.
The identity of the new tenant is being kept confidential at this time.
“The space will be renovated to suit the new tenant’s needs and will no longer be a movie theater,” said Casaccio.
“The space on the ground floor of the Fowler Building was originally renovated in 2001 when Bud Wolf purchased the building at a tax sale. The dinner and movie venue was operated as Aimee’s Dinner and A Movie and Wallabee’s Jazz Bar until August of 2015,” said Casaccio.
She said Fowler Building Associates purchased the building from Wolf in September of 2015, before the O’Neill family took over the entire space as the 190 Grille and Cinema from January 2016 to December 2017.
The business is at the corner of Glen and Exchange streets, a convenient spot that receives a lot of traffic. Fowler Building Associates expected that the space would not stay empty for long.
