The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce announced the 29th J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award will be presented to Dr. Jim Morrissey and his wife Kay Morrissey.
The award will be given at a dinner event on Saturday, March 3, at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing. A cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 7 p.m.
Also, Holly DeKleine of StreamLined Graphics will receive the ARCC Ambassador of the Year honor. This is the second year in a row that DeKleine has been honored with this award.
The ambassadors play an instrumental role in welcoming new members, reaching out to long term supporters, encouraging engagement, sharing information, supporting the events we host, celebrating ribbon cuttings, encouraging businesses to join the ARCC and more.
The Juckett Award is a prestigious community award designed to honor an individual who has “selflessly gone above and beyond by contributing time and energy to help others.”
Dr. Morrissey is an Army veteran and a founding member of Adirondack Cardiology Associates. He practices part-time at Hudson Headwaters in Warrensburg.
His philanthropic endeavors are numerous, involving associations with the WAIT House, Glens Falls Youth Center, the Wood Theater, St. Mary’s Church, Glens Falls Hospital Foundation, Crandall Public Library, Glens Falls School Board, Family Services Association of Glens Falls, Glens Falls Symphony, Glens Falls Family YMCA, Hudson Headwaters Charitable Foundation and North Country Ministry.
Kay Morrissey has played a vital role in supporting her husband’s social and civic achievements over the years and has served on the board of WAIT House. Together they established a foundation that assists various local charities in the region.
Juckett had a distinguished business career and was recognized as a major community leader in his adopted home, the Village of Hudson Falls, and the entire region. He was recognized with honors for his work and contributions to groups like the Boy Scouts of America, Salvation Army, Norwich University, Presbyterian Church, Hudson Falls Central School and many other organizations.
