Tiki Tours LLC plans to add one or two boats to the business this summer.
Co-owner Greg Teresi said the response to the business was so positive last year that he and his crew are ready to accommodate more guests.
Teresi said he plans to continue to provide a safe boat ride for people looking for a Tiki bar experience on the water. He said there were some minor kinks from last season to work out, but the majority of his 1,200 passengers last year had a safe and enjoyable experience.
Teresi, also a lawyer, said he hopes to add one or two boats to the two Tiki vessels they are now operating. He said the Lake George Park Commission will review his proposal on May 22, when he hopes to hear if they are awarded a year permit for the boats they currently own, as well as the additions.
“It is completely up to the village. They could grant us one year, two years, or even more,” said Teresi.
Teresi said they do not serve any type of alcohol on the boats, however passengers are allowed to bring food and beverages to enjoy. He said the boat is an asset because it allows for someone to have a drink on the water with a captain driving them around safely.
He said one of the measures they take to maintain safety is to enroll their captains in the alcohol safety course that is also given to bartenders.
“Our goal is to have zero complaints,” said Teresi.
Tiki Tours boats are available for 90-minute charters driven by state-certified captains. The company can be reached at www.thetikitours.com, or by phone at 1-800-691-0770.
