Crosspoint Realty Opens Headquarters At Moreau Commons Along Growth Corridor

Crosspoint Realty has established its new headquarters at Moreau Commons on Route 9, positioning the brokerage along the corridor from the Northway’s Exit 17 to Glens Falls as upstate New York’s real estate market expands.

Broker and owner Scott Cross founded the relationship-driven brokerage earlier this year to capitalize on the region’s geographic shift. After more than four months of working from home, Cross said he needed a dedicated brick-and-mortar space for his growing team.

“Rome wasn’t built in a day, and Crosspoint Realty was not built in a day either,” Cross said. “It takes a long time for you to plan everything.”

The Moreau Commons location gives agents quick access to clients in Washington, Warren and Saratoga counties. Cross sees South Glens Falls and Moreau as a key junction for future housing development.

Cross identifies the Exit 17 corridor in Moreau as a pivotal geographic “pinch point,” with limited growth potential in larger cities pushing development from Saratoga into Wilton and farther north, and from Glens Falls south toward the central area. He expects that regional expansion to strengthen the location’s strategic value.

Crosspoint Realty represents the latest chapter in Cross’ career. The Southern Adirondack Realtors Association named him its 2024 Realtor of the Year. Although his grandmother offered to pay for real estate classes when he was 18, Cross declined. He served in the Army for nearly three years before a severe ankle injury, then had a long career as a New York state corrections officer.

Cross earned his real estate license in 2017 while planning his 2020 retirement from corrections. After retiring, he became branch manager for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Blake, Realtors, overseeing the Queensbury and Lake George offices. In 2023, he became North Country manager, adding the Saratoga office and managing 58 agents.

As his contract neared expiration late last year, Cross realized he wanted to build his own legacy and return to the client engagement that drew him to real estate.

“I never marketed myself. I always promoted the company and tried to push the other agents to market themselves,” Cross said of his management years. “I missed the connection. I really missed working with everybody. So it was kind of the next plan. Start my own brokerage, get back out there in the selling, get back out there engaging with everybody.”

Since opening his own firm in January, Cross has steadily built his roster. Crosspoint Realty employs five agents and plans to expand by the end of the summer. The roster includes local agents Kelly Near, Racheal Vaughn, Danielle Allen, Grace Harris and Lindsey Kenna. Their backgrounds range from Vaughn’s two decades of industry experience to Harris’ psychology background and Kenna’s focus on sustainable home practices.

Though the agents work part time, Cross said their dedication rivals that of full-time industry professionals.

“When you think of agents that called themselves full-time agents, some of the things we were getting back were 14, 20, 24 hours a week,” Cross said. “I have part-time agents that are doing that. So now they’re full-time agents with a full-time job. They really just need to have that tenacity, that drive and motivation to do it.”

The team operates as a “resi-mercial” brokerage, handling residential and commercial transactions with a primary focus on single-family and multifamily homes. Cross also serves as president of the 440-member Southern Adirondack Realtors Association for 2025 and 2026.

At Crosspoint Realty, Cross emphasizes a holistic, service-oriented approach shaped by his public service background. In addition to his military and corrections experience, Cross served as a volunteer medic for West Glens Falls EMS for 25 years.

“I like to call it the service industry,” Cross said. “I think everything carries through on a family basis, and real estate is a family with everybody. We always look together to do something to get the better outcome.”

That collaborative mindset extends to his management style. While Cross holds the liability as broker, he sees the agency’s success as a collective effort.

“I believe that it’s not just me. It’s about everybody that works for the company,” he said. “Everybody that’s a party to it needs to have some kind of a voice to make it grow.”

In a tight housing market with low inventory, Cross believes strong community ties and innovative strategies will distinguish his firm.

“There are a lot of people who do the same stuff. It’s finding that thing that somebody else doesn’t do, that different approach,” Cross said. “We’re focused on how we can figure out a different way to get your property sold.”
