Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Co. employees talked about the importance of saving with more than 1,800 students at local schools earlier this year through the national Teach Children To Save program.
Nearly 30 Bank employees delivered over 75 presentations on saving, budgeting and prioritizing to students at Argyle Central School, Hudson Falls Kindergarten Center, Hudson Falls Primary School, Keeseville Elementary School, Lake George Elementary School, Minerva Central School and Warrensburg Elementary School.
The lessons took place during May and June.
Teach Children To Save was created by the American Bankers Association Educational Foundation in 1997 to help young people develop lifelong savings habits. It brings volunteer bankers into classrooms to discuss the basic principles of using money wisely, bank officials said.
