A team organized by Glens Falls National
Bank employees collected supplies and raised
nearly $550 for Operation Adopt A Soldier through
its participation in the 196-mile Ragnar Relay
Adirondacks in September.
The team of 12, dubbed the Happy Feet Running
Team, included Glens Falls National employees
Heather Bala, Amy Gould and Melissa Kwasniewski,
along with friends and family members.
Together they collected $546 and five boxes of
supplies for Operation Adopt A Soldier, which ships
care packages to troops stationed overseas. The
bank’s Argyle, Granville, Greenwich, Lake George,
Salem, South Glens Falls and Washington County
Offi ces assisted with the collections.
“Happy Feet Running Team” finished the
overnight endurance challenge in 30:19:58. They
were among over 200 teams to complete the race,
which began in Saratoga Springs and ended in
Lake Placid.
The Granville office of Glens Falls National
Bank and Trust Co. raised nearly $800 and supported
the fight against cancer during a Community
Appreciation Day on Oct. 11.
Proceeds from multiple basket raffles and the
sale of silicone bracelets generated a total of $776
for the Image Fund at Glens Falls Hospital’s C.R.
Wood Cancer Center, which assists local cancer
patients with a wide range of services, bank officials said.
In addition, a representative from the Be The
Match program enrolled seven volunteers in the
national bone marrow donor registry, and a photo
display honoring loved ones impacted by cancer
was featured in the lobby.
Mannix Marketing, Inc. was ranked among
the top 20 recognized leaders in the digital marketing
industry nationwide. At an awards ceremony
in October, Mannix Marketing was announced
the winner of the “Best Use Of Search – Retail”
category for their work with Atlantic British and
their website RoverParts.com.
This is the first year of these industry awards in
the United States after a successful launch of the
awards in the United Kingdom and Europe. The
awards are delivered in association with Pubcon
Las Vegas and joint sponsors Manual Link Building
and Majestic SEO. The awards are also supported
by SEMPO and will recognize and reward organizations,
agencies and individuals based or working
in the U.S. search and digital marketing industry.
For the 18th straight year, area residents have
identified Albany Medical Center as their
top choice for quality health care services with
the Consumer Choice Award from the National
Research Corp. Albany Med is the only hospital
in northeastern New York to receive this award.
The National Research Corp. annually gives
Consumer Choice Awards for the most preferred
hospitals in more than 300 U.S. markets based on
surveys of households in each region. Winners are
determined by consumer perceptions on multiple
quality and image ratings, including: best overall
quality, best image and reputation, best doctors,
and best nurses.
The National Research Corp. has more than two
decades of experience in health care performance
measurement and improvement. The names of the
Consumer Choice winners are published in this
month’s Modern Healthcare magazine.
The Washington County office of Glens Falls
National Bank and Trust Co. at 343 Broadway
in Fort Edward celebrated its 50th anniversary and
raised money for a local nonprofit during a 1960’s themed
Community Appreciation Day on Oct. 24.
A basket raffle and other fundraising activities
generated over $253 as well as a box of supplies
for the Pumpkin Fund, which assists sick and
injured pets. The Community Appreciation Day
also included free Stewart’s ice cream cones and
a Fort Edward Fire Department truck to promote
fire safety.
