Barkeater Chocolates of North Creek
in the Adirondacks was honored with a
Business Excellence Award during a recent
luncheon held at the Marriott Hotel
in Albany.
Nominated by SBDC North Country’s
Andy Allison, Barkeater was among select
businesses in upstate New York to receive
the award. Deb and Jim Morris, co-owners,
were on hand to receive the award at the
luncheon.
The Excellence Awards celebrate the
business community leaders for their small
business successes. Its goal, according to
Bernard J. Paprocki, SBA Syracuse District
director, and Patrick MacKrell, NYBDC
president and CEO, is to “honor the individuals
whose passion and perseverance
personify the American dream.”
The program, through State University
of New York, is designed to advise small
businesses throughout the state on how
to facilitate growth and encourage entrepreneurship.
Barkeater Chocolates
was selected because of their growth and
increased market share since the business
began in 2008.
