Hoffis to vice

Lake branch manager
Georgia Burkhardt
to assistant vice president.
Hoffis will continue to oversee operations in
Glens Falls and West Glens Falls at the bank’s
Broad Street and Northway Exit 18 offices. She
joined the bank in 2005 as an officer and assistant
branch manager, and became a branch
manager in 2007.
Hoffis is a graduate
of the Adirondack
Regional Chamber of
Commerce’s Leadership
Adirondack Program.
She was elected
to the bank’s High Performance
Club and received
The Post-Star’s
“20 Under 40” award in
2008. She is a former
U.S. Naval reservist and a volunteer with March
of Dimes, American Cancer Society, Young Life,
the Argyle Fire Department and its FEAST
Thanksgiving meal program.
Burkhardt will continue to oversee operations
at the Schroon Lake office. She joined the
bank in 2000 as a teller and became a branch
manager in 2008.
Burkhardt has an associate’s degree in humanities
and social sciences from Adirondack
Community College. She was twice recognized
by her peers as a High Performer and received
The Post-Star’s “20 Under 40” Award in 2012.
She is active in her community as a member
of the Northern Regional Workforce Investment
Board, Workforce One Council, Save
the Strand Steering Committee, Lion’s Club
of Schroon Lake, Our Town Theatre Group
and the Town of Schroon Travel and Tourism
board of directors. She is also chairwoman of
the Town of Schroon Revolving Loan Fund, an
Advisory Board Member for the Seagle Music
Colony, and Craft Fair Director for the Schroon
Lake Association.

Attorney Edward V. Wilcenski was
named to the New York Super Lawyers list as
one of the top elder law attorneys in New York
state for 2014.
Super Lawyers selects no more than 5 percent
of the lawyers in New York state for this
designation. This is the fourth year Wilcenski
received the honor.
Also, attorneys Tara Anne Pleat and
Michael D. Dezik were named to the New
York Super Lawyers Rising Star list as two of
the top elder law attorneys in New York state
under the age of 40 for the year 2014. Super
Lawyers selects no more than 2.5 percent of the
lawyers in the state for the designation. This is
the second year that Pleat received this honor.

The Calgary Flames hired Scott Gouthro
as the goaltending coach for the Adirondack
Flames.
Gouthro joins the Adirondack Flames,
Calgary’s AHL affiliate, after three seasons as
the goaltending coach with the Cape Breton
Screaming Eagles of the QMJHL.
Gouthro, a Cape Breton native, had been a
part of the Screaming Eagles staff in a part time
role for the past nine seasons. The 33-year old
also has a background with Hockey Canada.
Gouthro worked with the Canadian sled hockey
team at the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi as well
as the 2011 Canadian U-18 team at the Ivan
Hlinka Tournament in the Czech Republic and
Slovakia, where Canada won gold.
He played for Dalhousie University before
a junior career in the QMJHL, MJAHL and
QSPHL that concluded at Winston-Salem in the
SPHL. Gouthro posted a 2-1-0 record and a 2.94
goals-against average in three games with the
Screaming Eagles in the QMJHL in the 2000-
01 season. The goaltender helped to lead the
Halifax Oland Exports to the 2002 Royal Bank
Cup, where he was named the tournament’s
top goaltender.

Genpak LLC announced the addition of
Patrick Rorie, Doug Gaulin, Jeffrey
Miller Jr., Ali Bren, and Sarah Otto to
its staff.
Additionally, the company announced the
promotion of Paul Haviland, and the lateral
move of Samantha Mattison.
Rorie has joined as the corporate training
manager. He is assigned to the Glens
Falls, but will maintain an office at Genpak’s
Wilmar, N.C. facility. He has over 20 years
of training experience in the manufacturing
and health care industries. He will be
responsible for managing training initiatives
and programs throughout the company’s U.S.
facilities.
Gaulin joined the Glens Falls location as a
load planning associate. He has a background
in OTM transportation software, which he
had previously used while working for Home
Depot.
Miller joined the Glens Falls location as a
PC support specialist in the IT department.
Prior to permanent employment, Miller
assisted the department in setting up the
company’s Intranet, handling virus removal,
and has played a key role in various other
general tech functions.
Bren joined the Glens Falls location as a
cost management associate. Bren worked as
a temporary employee supporting Genpak’s
samples department for nine months prior
to the transition. Her areas of responsibility
include working with Genpak’s Southwest,
Gulf Coast, and Florida territories, along with
all U.S. Foods locations.
Otto is a cost management associate in Glens Falls. Otto has over nine years of retail
experience. Her areas of responsibility
is working with the Southeast regional sales
manager and with the director of sales food
service (south), as well as with sales reps of
White & Hodge Co. Inc.
Haviland was promoted to assistant logistics
manager in Glens Falls. Load Planning
associates will report to Haviland. He will
focus on OTM transportation system enhancements,
through reporting tools, as well as
overall efficiency of the system.
Mattison made a lateral transition from
load planning associate to cost management
associate. She will work with Genpak’s
national accounts team, as well as with the
sales force and brokers in the New England
and Mid-Atlantic regions.
