Glens Falls National Bank and Trust
Co. raised over $325 for the Ben Osborn
Memorial Fund during a Community Appreciation
Day event at its Queensbury and
Route 9 offices in September.
Various fundraisers generated $328 for
the nonprofit, including a bake sale, basket
raffle and car wash. In addition, two boxes of
food were donated to the Tri-County United
Way, and a book drive collected two boxes of
books for “Ben’s Book Stations,” a new free
reading resource provided to local schools
by the Ben Osborn Fund.
The event also included free food and
giveaways.
The South Glens Falls office supported
the Moreau Community Center Food Pantry
during its fall-themed Community Appreciation
Day in September.
A food drive and pie sale generated 74
pounds of food and $95, respectively, for the
Food Pantry. In addition, Boy Scout Troop
99 was on-site collecting bottles and cans.
The event also included free apples from
McWhorter’s Orchard, free paper shredding
by Adirondack Mobile Shredding and
giveaways.
The Washington County office raised over
$500 during its “Think Pink” Community
Appreciation Day in September.
Various fundraisers generated $514 for
the American Cancer Society – Making
Strides Against Breast Cancer, including
the sale of breast cancer awareness ribbon
pins and bracelets, a basket raffle and bake
sale. In addition, Glens Falls Hospital’s C.
R. Wood Cancer Center was on-site with an
information table and giveaways.
