Thirty-eight attendees representing
Adirondack region hospitals, community based
organizations and public health
departments participated in a recent telehealth
discussion in Glens Falls.
Presenter David Johnson defined telehealth,
provided background information
and explained how it could benefit the
region. Johnson is a certified telehealth
liaison from North Country Healthcare
Provider, in partnership with Fort Drum
Regional Health Planning Organization.
The presentation was followed by a panel
discussion. Telehealth user panelists Dr.
Anthony Dowidowicz of Adirondack Health;
Irina Gelman, DPM, MPH, PhDc of Fulton
County Public Health; Sharon Schaldone,
RN, BSN, ADPS of Warren County Health
Services; and Elizabeth Zicari, RN, BSN,
CENP of HCR Home Care shared their experiences
as actively engaged telehealth
users.

among health care and social service providers
