Two new members and a new medical
staff president were recently appointed to
the Glens Falls Hospital board of governors.
Mark Behan and George Ferone were
appointed to the board of governors and Dr.
Jack Leary was elected president/medical
staff.
Behan founded Behan Communications
in 1988 after a career as a reporter, editor
and newspaper executive. Since establishing
Behan Communications, he has served as
an adviser to CEOs of many companies and
major nonprofit organizations.
Behan previously served on the board
of governors of Glens Falls Hospital for 12
years. He also serves on the boards of the
Hyde Collection, Adirondack Health Services
Inc., the Glens Falls Foundation, the E. Leo
Spain Foundation and Kelly’s Angels Inc. He
is a member of the regional advisory board of
Arrow Financial Corp.
Ferone has more than 44 years of experience
with the media including the New York
Daily News, Tribune Company and Tribune
Media Services in New York City and Orlando
Florida. He current serves as executive director of administration at Gracenote, Inc.
(formerly Tribune Media Services LLC).
He previously served on the boards of the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce,
Association of Contingency Planners, Glens
Falls Hospital Foundation, Prospect Child &
Family Center, Saratoga Warren Washington
County Workforce Investment, Tri-County
United Way, and United Way of New York
State.
He was also involved with the Glens Falls
Rotary Club and the Retired Senior Volunteer
Program. He currently serves on the town of
Queensbury Planning Board and the Finance
Council for Our Lady of the Annunciation
RC Church.
Dr. Leary has practiced medicine at Glens
Falls Hospital since 1976. He is an anesthesiologist
with Warren Anesthesia.
Leary graduated from Georgetown University
School of Medicine and completed his
internship and residency at Albany Medical
Center. He is certified by the American
Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of
Emergency Medicine, and American Board
of Pediatrics.
