The Argyle office of Glens Falls National
Bank and Trust Co. raised funds and awareness
for the Argyle Free Library during its Community
Appreciation Day in April.
The Argyle librarian read stories to local
kindergarteners during the event and provided
information about the library’s history and how
to become a member. In addition, a basket
raffle and other donations generated $255 for
the nonprofit.
Also, the South Glens Falls office raised over
$1,100 for the Moreau Community Center Back-
Pack Program during a Community Appreciation
Day on May 1.
Various fundraisers, including basket raffles
with items donated by local businesses, generated
$1,137 for the BackPack Program, which
helps alleviate hunger by providing food for
children to take home on the weekends. In addition,
nonperishable food was collected during
the event for the Community Center’s pantry.
Meanwhile, the Fort Edward and downtown
Glens Falls offices raised over $1,000 and
awareness for local nonprofits during their
Community Appreciation Days on April 23 and
24, respectively.
The bank’s main office in downtown Glens
Falls hosted a cookout, bake sale and raffle,
which generated a total of $840 for Relay for Life
and the Glens Falls Salvation Army. At the Fort
Edward office, a bake sale, art raffle and basket
raffle generated $200 for the Washington County
Community Action Angels.
All the Community Appreciation Days included
food, activities for kids, giveaways and more.
