Silver Bay YMCA was honored with the
Distinguished Business Award at the annual
Adirondack Business Council’s Business of the
Year Awards on June 16 at Hiland Park Country
Club in Queensbury.
The business council is a program of the
Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Seven other businesses received awards at the
Annual breakfast.
The Distinguished Business Award goes to
a company that exemplifies the character of
a successful and thriving business, as well as,
a community leader that is looked upon as a
standard of excellence, Chamber officials said.
“The selection process to choose the winners is both challenging and insightful as all the
nominees are very deserving,” said John Crawford,
of JP Crawford & Associates and a member
of the Adirondack Business Council. “Members
of the Council conducted in-depth interviews
with each nominee about their professional
achievements as well as their contributions
to the community, ensuring the integrity and
credibility of these awards.”
This year, awards were presented to:
• All-American Properties, Professional
Business of the Year.
• St. Andrews Ace Hardware, Steven M. Sutton
Small Business of the Year.
• Juicin’ Jar, Rookie Business of the Year.
• Barton International, Healthy Workplace
Award.
• Synergy Promotions, Independent Business
of the Year.
• Irving Tissue, Large Business of the Year.
• WAIT House, Nonprofit Business of the
Year.
Nominees were also honored at the awards
breakfast with framed certificates recognizing
their achievement. Nominees in the six business

Year (recognition of established business

of a nonprofit whose organization mission
is reflective of community needs and has

Adirondack Theatre Festival, Silver Bay YMCA,
Tri-County United Way and WAIT House.
