The Glens Falls Civic Center Foundation
and the Adirondack Civic Center
Coalition (ACCC) announced a campaign
to raise funds to support revitalization of
the center.
The campaign, called Buy-a-Seat, offers
individuals, companies and organizations to
the chance to buy a seat in the Glens Falls
Civic Center for $100 each. In return for
the tax-deductible donation, a nameplate
will be affixed to a seat in the Civic Center.
There is no limit to how many seats
anyone can buy.
In a joint statement, Paul Pontiff,
president of the Glens Falls Civic Center
Foundation and Dan Burke, president of
the Coalition said, “Our mission is to make
the Civic Center a major entertainment and
sports venue for years to come. One of the
key ingredients to making this happen is
to raise funds for both the operations and
purchase of the building. This campaign is
critical to accomplish our goals.”
Both organizations feel that the Civic
Center is a regional asset, and with this
type of campaign people in the community
have an opportunity to feel they are a part
of the revitalization of the venue.
To jump-start the undertaking, the
boards of both organizations purchased or
pledged to over 200 seats.
Seats can be purchased by contacting the
Glens Falls Civic Center at 798-0366, ext. 10.
People can pay with a credit card or staff
will forward a purchase form with instructions.
People wanting to help sell seats
on behalf of the center can call the same
number.
