The previously vacant land at 120 Luzerne Road in Queensbury will soon be converted into a new set of industrial buildings and warehouses.
Bielecki & Sons Development, a family-owned construction company based in New York City, has plans for the unused 12.9 acres to be developed into nearly 50,000 square feet of light manufacturing space.
The site will also include loading docks and 180 parking spaces, with landscaping and modern lighting fixtures planned for the surrounding property, company officials said.
The finished site will have two commercial or light industrial warehouse spaces, with office buildings.
Bielecki & Sons, who have over 30 years of experience in construction projects in New York City and Long Island, are hoping for one of the facilities to be used by the medical device industry that covers implants, instruments and equipment intended for therapeutics, monitoring and diagnostics. These would include, (but not limited to) reconstructive devices such as hip and knee replacements as well as implantable monitors.
The medical device industry is prominent in the Glens Falls area.
The company believes that the site will open major employment opportunities for a community and will complement the existing hospital community and medical equipment industry in the area.
Regarding their reasoning for taking on the project, Anna Bielecki, said the area “has a shortage of space for these types of developments that are essential for a thriving city. We feel being a part to help bridge that gap is rewarding.”
Bugoslaw Bielecki, company owner, said that the project will be completed under the Environmental Department of Preservation Guidance.
“We are so pleased to have this opportunity on Luzerne Road as our family has always loved the Glens Falls area,” he said. “We have been vacationing here with our boys for many years, enjoying the beautiful area.”
