Thomas K. Flaherty of T.K Flaherty Associates in Queensbury, has received accreditation from the American Public Works Association (APWA) as a certified public infrastructure inspector (CPII) as well as certification at Level I in underground utilities construction, water and sewer lines by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET).
NICET certification is based on successfully passing an exam demonstrating requisite knowledge, experience and work performance as set forth by the institute. NICET is a division of the national Society of Professional Engineers.
Flaherty has over 50 years of experience in the public utility construction field, including the development of the Queensbury Water System for the town of Queensbury when he served as the town water superintendent.
He is the founder and President of T.K. Flaherty Associates with offices in Queensbury, and Bellwood, Ala. Flaherty is also an associate of Miller Engineering located in Manlius.
Flaherty is a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in water and waste water technology. He has also successfully completed courses at Cornell University, College of Engineering in the supervision and inspection of water, sewer and drainage installations.

Cost Control Associates announced that Evan Keating has joined the company as a telecommunications analyst.
Since joining Cost Control Associates, Keating has completed certification in Santa Clara, Calif., as a telecommunications analyst and network specialist.
Prior to joining Cost Control Associates, he was an assistant account manager at Associates of Glens Falls for three years.
He was graduated from the University of Vermont in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. He is a lifelong resident of Glens Falls.

Crandall Public Library announced that Michelle Chandler is the new development director at the facility.
Chandler comes to the Library from HomeStart Inc, where she served as director of development. Chandler was a member of HomeStart’s leadership team, with shared responsibilities for all major organizational initiatives, including a three-year strategic plan to increase HomeStart’s fiduciary credibility and efficiency. She increased private giving by more than 20 percent within her first year.
Prior to her tenure at HomeStart, Chandler was manager of annual giving and development operations for Zoo New England, assistant director of individual giving for the Animal Rescue League of Boston, and was development officer for Children’s Trust.
Chandler holds a B.A. in psychology from Bay Path University, as well as a master’s degree in social work from Boston University.

Glens Falls Hospital has announced the election of two regional business leaders to its board of governors: Carl Cedrone, financial advisor at Edward Jones in Queensbury and Gregory Champion, managing attorney of the Albany office of Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC.
Cedrone joined Edward Jones in 1998, and became a limited partner in 2007. He has earned the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist by the College for Financial Planning, and has served as a trainer and mentor within the Edward Jones organization.
He also served as chairman of the Glen Falls Hospital Foundation board of trustees from 2016-17, and as a board member of the Glen at Hiland Meadows and Our Lady of the Annunciation church. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pace University.
Champion has been a corporate and business law attorney with Bond, Schoeneck & King since 1991 and was named managing attorney of the firm’s Albany office in 2008. He represents publicly traded and closely held corporations, higher education institutions and not-for-profit entities.
Champion has previously served on the board of directors of several organizations, including the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Center for Economic Growth, and currently serves on the board of directors of Fenimore Asset Management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Lawrence University and his law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law.
