Saunders Gallery of Fine Art @ bjsartworks has relocated to 119 Bay St. in Glens Falls, a more visible location, within walking distance to downtown.
This decision comes after a two-year search to find a space that fit the vision of artist/owner Bev Saunders.
She plans to focus on the quality picture framing services and original art and design services that have been the most successful for the business.
Saunders operated out of the historic Shirt Factory for more than 10 years.
“It is a bittersweet transition,” she said. “My commitment to the success of the Shirt Factory has been great. I have spent many hours over the years working on shared advertising for our retailers along with the annual Holiday Open House planning committees, to make these events and advertising successful and bring attention to the Shirt Factory.
“I have many artist friends and colleagues at the Shirt Factory that have supported me. I will miss their daily presence. However, just blocks away in my new location, I look forward to participating in the Shirt Factory Gallery artist events and in the North Country Arts, by exhibiting my work. As a new board member to the NCArts, I will continue my support of the Glens Falls arts community, and look forward to my next 10 years serving our greater community with my original art, design services and most of all my fine picture framing.”
The new location continues to feature fine art and artisan works, along with her experience and expertise in framing and design, art value and minor restoration.
Paintings of nature, lake scenes, local history and still life have been purchased throughout the years from Saunders’ portfolio.
She said the gallery is committed to bringing community worthy art exhibitions by highlighting concerning issues such as depression and domestic violence.
